Threaded insert installation

For strong and reusable threaded joints, we can fit plastic parts with metal threaded inserts. Inserts are especially suitable where a part is repeatedly assembled and disassembled, or where a thread in the plastic itself does not provide sufficient strength. This way we can deliver parts ready for immediate assembly.

Properties and uses

Do you need a strong thread in a plastic part that can handle repeated assembly and disassembly? We can install metal threaded inserts into suitably designed holes, which significantly increase the durability and reliability of the threaded joint.

Advantages

  • ICON: Stronger thread than directly in plastic
  • ICON: Suitable for repeated assembly
  • ICON: Longer joint service life
  • ICON: Cleaner and more professional solution
  • ICON: Parts can be delivered ready for assembly
  • ICON: Suitable for small series too

Specifics

  • ICON: The hole must be designed for the specific insert type
  • ICON: The geometry must allow access during installation
  • ICON: An unsuitable hole diameter reduces joint strength
  • ICON: For a new part, the insert should be considered already in the design
  • ICON: An existing model may require geometry adjustments

Applications

  • ICON: Electronics housings
  • ICON: Screwed plastic assemblies
  • ICON: Serviceable components
  • ICON: Production and assembly jigs
  • ICON: Holders and brackets
  • ICON: Functional prototypes
